Meet Our Dietitians
Bonnie Modugno, M.S., R.D.
Bonnie Modugno, MS, RD is a registered dietitian in private practice specializing in weight management and sports nutrition. Bonnie received her bachelor of science in foods and nutrition at Eastern Washington University and a masters of science in Education and Psychology at Pepperdine University.
Currently Bonnie’s research interests focus on insulin resistance and energy metabolism as it relates to obesity and lifestyle disease states such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. In addition to seeing individual clients, Bonnie has taught basic nutrition and sports nutrition at both Santa Monica College and UCLA Extension.
She is frequently quoted and published in The Los Angeles Times, Shape Magazine, Self Magazine, Men's Fitness, and Flex.
Bonnie has served as a dietetic consultant for the McDonald’s Operators’ Association of Southern California for more than 15 years, providing guidance on issues related to health and nutrition and recommendations on menu development. Additionally, Bonnie educates consumers through the Food Works program she created to help consumers make informed, nutritionally balanced, food choices.
Monica Montes, R.D.
Monica Montes, R.S. is a registered dietitian who holds a bachelor of science degree in Nutritional Studies from the Coordinated Dietetic Program at California State University, Los Angeles, a certificate in Applied Gerontology from the Roybal Geriatric Institute and is certified in HIV Nutrition and CDE-eligible.
In addition to her responsibilities with Southern California McDonald’s, Monica co-founded N.E.W. Health Consultants, Inc, a wellness education company based in Pasadena, Calif. that promotes a whole-body approach to optimal health.
Montes educates Hispanic consumers through the Vamos a Comer program, a one-hour bilingual presentation and Q&A session designed to arm parents with practical health and nutritional information sponsored by McDonald’s Operators’ Association of Southern California. Monica has served as a dietetic consultant for Southern California McDonald’s for several years.
